About Elyse.

 I'm a Northern California girl, relocated in Springfield, Illinois. We recently moved back to my husband’s hometown of Springfield with our 3 children after living 7 years in Dresden, Germany. I have always loved photography as well as birth for many many years, but both of these loves intensified with the birth of our first son in 2012. In 2013, we packed up and moved our little family to Germany to work with a church planting organization and even ended up opening our own cafe! I decided in 2014 to start my official doula certification process. In the spring of 2016 I completed my doula certification with Childbirth International. During the time of being a stay at home mom with our son as well as slowly working on my doula certification, I started taking photos for the people in my community. Photography has always been a major passion of mine, and over the last 8 years I have really grown into my own style and convictions about photography and capturing moments of life.

Offering my photography services alongside my doula services really sets women and families up for a very meaningful, memorable, and powerful experience. I offer my photography services primarily in the area of family: Maternity, Birth, and Newborn, and Family photography services are all available to you. I love to capture the meaningful and fleeting moments of your life. What inspires me and my photography are the everyday moments of beauty, normalcy, intimacy, and everyday life. When you book a session with me, I may ask you to bring some of your favorite books, a picnic, an activity to do together, or maybe we'll just go for a walk and I'll take photos along the way to document the memories and unique aspects of you and your family. What I love to do most of all, is to meet you at your home to capture images of you and your family in your true and comfortable environment. Photographing births, as well as capturing moments of my own family, truly inspire me and excite me.
